What’s involved in a session?

Sessions run for 50 minutes, either face to face at Attadale, WA 6156, or by telehealth. The first session will include going through informed consent, obtaining key information and where relevant, some history about yourself, getting to know what you want from therapy, and coming up with a plan of how we can work together going forward.

How much does it cost?

$225 per session. A Medicare rebate applies if you have a current Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP).

Do I need a referral or a Mental Health Treatment Plan?

No referral is required to start. Bring an MHTP if you have one, since it makes you eligible for a Medicare rebate.

What happens after I enquire?

You’ll receive intake forms and a request for any relevant documents, then a link to select a timeslot and session mode.

How do I book a session?

Once you’re set up as a client, sessions are booked through an online calendar (Halaxy).

What’s your cancellation policy?

48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule.

Will I meet Mr Patz?

You may meet Mr Patz at in person sessions. He’s a friendly dog who loves people, not a therapy dog.

Who is this for?

Adults who care deeply, who’ve been trying hard to manage on their own, and who often appear capable and strong while struggling internally.

What if therapy hasn’t worked for me before?

Not every therapist is the right fit for every person. That’s normal, not a failing on your part. Therapy is a relationship as much as a technique.

Do I have to talk about everything straight away?

You won’t have to. We set the pace together.

Is this confidential?

Yes, standard psychologist confidentiality applies.

Is telehealth as effective as face to face?

Both are available. Choose whichever suits you.

What if I’m not sure it’s the right fit?

Send a brief enquiry first and ask questions before booking.

What’s your approach?

ACT, Process Based Therapy, and personalisation. Trauma informed, collaborative, and human.

I saw you a while ago, in a different practice or setting. Can I come back?

Most definitely. You’re welcome back any time, whenever it suits you. We’ll usually run a brief intake again first, just to catch up on where things are at and make sure the plan still fits.
